| "These are great videos, totally essential to the fight to save the planet. These are must-see items for you and your kids. - Harvey Wasserman, Senior Advisor, Greenpeace International | About Envi sion Environmental Media Center
Envision Environmental Media Center (EEMC) is a Not-For-Profit Corporation with 50l(c)(3) tax-deductible status. EEMC has the chartered purpose of educating the public about environmental issues -- to increase awareness and understanding of environmental matters -- by producing and distributing television programs. Established in 1995, EEMC has produced, through EnviroVideo, a project of EEMC, more than 200 TV programs, including interview and news shows, specials and documentaries about vital environmental and social justice issues, for a national television audience. EnviroVideo's award-winning documentaries and its television series, Enviro Close-Up with Karl Grossman, have been broadcast regularly for over six years on Free Speech TV, a non-commercial, independent television network. Enviro Close-Up with Karl Grossman is a series of half-hour TV interview shows hosted by Karl Grossman, a veteran investigative journalist and full professor of journalism at the State University of New York. Through informative discussion Enviro Close-Up with Karl Grossman explores issues such as global warming; safe, clean renewable energy; sustainability; nuclear proliferation; environmental justice; green technology; biodiversity; over-consumption; environmental pollution and its effect on human health. Free Speech TV reaches over 25 million homes across the US on the Dish Satellite Network (Channel 9415) and on 172 cable TV systems in 35 states. And now, many of our videos are streamed on youtube.com, erweb.org and other websites, with several getting over 10,000 views in 2007. The underlying premise of EEMC is that there are critical environmental issues at hand that can best be communicated to large numbers of people through the media most favor for news and information--television and the Internet. Our goal is to provide information people can use to make informed decisions and take positive action to create a sustainable future.
